mot emisions failure - big davey
L reg cfi ford escort help reqd. high c.o. high h.c. and a low
lamda reading. replaced manifold to head gasket, and front pipe
to manifold gasket without improvement. is the lamda sensor the next thing ? help.

One old trick is to remove the air filter and change engine oil before emmision test.

I'd check the output voltage from the lambda sensor first.....but yes, an oil change does sometimes help!
