Ford Mondeo - Starting Problem/Traction control problem - Andyk472

We have a 1.8 tdci 2007 Mondeo, it's just had a full service and just passed it's Mot but a few days after it wouldn't start in the morning even tho the battery was fine, we managed to get it started and brought it back to Ford who said there wasn't any faults showing and it was starting every time, we thought okay problem solved but then it happened again, its now happening nearly every morning, the funny thing is we discovered if you try a few different combinations of locking unlocking the car all if a sudden it will then start when ya turn the key. Also the traction control light has started to come on sometimes when driving and stays on, this can be followed by a loss of power which can be remedied by turning the car off and back on. The car was fine going in for its service but straight after all the problems started. Would be very grateful for any help.

There is no dedicated traction control module, but there are several reasons why the engine management controller might disable the traction control and consequently illuminate the warning lamp. These would include incorrect valve timing, or that that has moved outside the parameters, sticky turbo vanes or faulty turbo wastegate actuator resulting in an over boost condition, or even a problem with the ABS system including a faulty wheel sensor or reluctor ring. Your garage will need to do some live data checks on the engine and ABS systems, and if your car is an automatic the transmission system will need to be checked too.

when the car was serviced, did they replace the fuel filter? If yes,the it not uncommon for the filter housing to not seal correctly on re-assembly .New plastic housing will fix this.
