Peugeot 106 1.5 - Clutch noise/ problem

Peugeot 106 1.5 - Clutch noise/ problem - hwarren24

My Peugeot 106 diesel 1.5, has started to make a very loud off tone noise when I put the clutch pedal down. I can still get the gears in and the clutch does not slip. I have recently had a new clutch cable put in, so i do not think this is causing the issue. Does anyone know if this is a sign that the clutch is on the way out?

First guess is a clutch release bearing is starting to fail. Absolutely nothing you can do about it until it does fail, at which point you'll have to decide if it's worth fixing or not.

Oh, and it could last another week, or another 2 years. No way of telling really.

If it did not make this noise prior to the new cable, maybe the cable has not been adjusted properly.

I seem to remember that these can suffer from the release arm bending or breaking.
