astra 2006 1.6 xep - replacing an engine - spender1958

Hi I am replaceing an engine on this astra, I have removed the engine leaving the gearboc insitu,

My question is can I refit the replacement engine with the gearbox in the car still without taking it out ? Dont really want to take the box out as it seems a lot of work that may not be required.
