Probably able to scratch together £600 for a cheap van,if I can find one that`s been looked after.Private purchase no doubt.Can someone recommend a make and model known to have :-

a)Good Ncap rating

b)Good reliability and still ok with high mileage on the clock

c)Good mpg

d)Cheap road tax

e)Good comfort over long distances for six foot driver

Don`t want much do ?!

Last van I owned was a 1990 diesel Maestro which did around 50mpg.

Previous to that was an LDV Pilot with roller back door and front sliding doors which was ok for local runs.Have a year 2000 Pilot ,bought to do up,but that`s probably not going to happen,as the rust weevils will probably get to it first .Would probably prefer a van that size, but it would cost a lot more to run I expect?
