Rover 25, 1.4 year 2000 - Noise orwhining sound when damp or wet condiutions - Delysher

During past week or so, I have noticed a whining noise when the car is driven more so in damp or wet conditions. The sound comes andf goes.

Any ideas and advice most welcome, thanks

if it comes and goes with speed, possibly a wheel bearing going, its common on those,usually the rears go first.

also they become directional after a while,in other words you can hear which one is noisy

may not be that, but from what you said sounds like it

If there's a noise when the cars stationary with only the engine running, it could be one of the auxilliary belts making a noise.

Could be coming from the tyres, does it change with the road surface?
