Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience of the Focus with the original 90ps TDdi 1.8 engine?

How expensive a change is the timing belt change on this engine?

If this is the original engine as fitted to the old Mondeo - why do these seem to smoke like billyo whilst I don't recall seeing a smoky Focus.

The Focus 90PS engine is direct injection. Old Mondeo was indirect. Similar base engine though. Drove a Focus 90PS a lot and was quite impressed.

I guess the belt change is the usual £200 in a garage or £100 if a mate does it.
