Renault Kangoo 1.9D - Very Lumpy At Low Revs - stuartl

I've just bought a Kangoo as a stopgap runabout and although it drives fine at speed it is very lumpy on idle. It doesn't smoke but feels like the engine is trying to jump out of the car when at it's worst. I think it's probably seen off an engine mount or two because of this as well but does anyone know what would cause it? Does it sound like injector (s)?

Thanks in advance

Stuart

Posting your engine code would help

Is it uneven on tickover causing the engine to rock? If so its likely to be a faulty injector.

Peter N yes thats exactly what it is like. Its how a petrol engine would run if you popped off a plug lead or two. Funny thing is although it is most of the time it is not ALL of the time.

If it's an injector is there a testing procedure for them (presumably by a specialist if so?)

Otherwise it drives brilliantly once the revs are up!

Are they any way for a diy home mechanic to test these injectors myself?

Don't think so, take them to a diesel specialist. (Injection pressures are high enough to inject diesel fuel into you through your skin, a painful and serious injury.)
