fiat scudo sx combi 1997 jtd 2004 - dmf and clutch kit - borderer1964

hi i am new to this so here goes. i have a fiat scudo sx combi 1997 jtd 2004 reg. the clutch and dmf have packed in so i put it into my local garage in the hope that a solid flywheel and clutch could be fitted.i was told a solid flywheel was not avalible so told them to fit a dmf and clutch. i got a phone call back telling me that because my engine code is ...RHM/RMW the only place where i can buy a clutch kit dmf is from the fiat dealer. i need to know is this the case or is the parts ready available elsewhere and is there any way round this as the dealers price is more than the van is worth. please help borderer1964

had a similiar problem with an 04 punto for a mate, brcause of engine number part (sump) only available from fiat, and was a lot more expensive! If the cost of the parts is more than the vehicle is worth sometimes it is better to say goodbye. Do you have other things that might need doing such as brakes and cambelts and suspension, might not be economical to repair.

You could try looking up fiat specialists on ebay and the usual suspects, gsf, and all the other parts factors.

Have you tried a Peugeot/Citroen dealer or even a PSA specialist parts supplier, as you probably know the Pug Expert/Cit Dispatch (Jumpy) are the same vehicle.

It might be the case of your mechanic getting the offending parts out so they can be cross referred and paired up.

I fully expect there to be a suitable aftermarket quality clutch kit available but they'll need some parts numbers to work with.

One other thought, any Eurotaxi operators with their own workshops in your area, thats based on your van too.
