My car has lost off power up to three thousand revs after three thousand revs the power comes back on, it is very hard on fuel. What can be the problem?

Try disconnecting the electrical cable going to the MAF and see if you have power back.

Mine is doing the same but as I rarely drive over 60 mph or 2000 rpm it hasn't bothered me but my son has been using it lately and it does him.

Yesterday I fitted a new fuel filter and ran some EGR cleaner through it and it is improving now although still has a bit of a flat spot at around 2500 rpm but the fuel consumption is still excellent at around 55 mpg so as previous post thry the MAF sensor.

If you get a diagnostic check, a faulty MAF will return a P code of P0100 - P0104, I think P0102 is the most common one I see.

But beware - unplugging the MAF will also throw up this code, so its good to get a diagnostic check first.
