Hi

I have an 02 renault megane, recently the gearbox mount was replaced by '' a guy down the road''

since its been done there is a loud crack / slap type sound when changing gears, it seems to be in the gearbox area. the gear stick still wobbles about but not as bad as it did and only in 1st and 4th

any ideas any one??

the guy who did it cant think what it could be

Possibly a loose or broken mounting could cause the noise and movement, a loose exhaust system is another possibility. Why don't you take it back to him?

the two engie mounts have also been replaced as well as the one on the gearbox and the problem is still the same

desperate for solutions - can anyone shed any light on what it might be?
