Why is my freshly-serviced Citroen Xsara Picasso's front brake squeaking?

I recently bought a Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6HDi (2005) and, after about a week, noticed that there was a squeaking noise coming from the front driver's side wheel. This has got progressively louder over the past couple of days. I have also noticed a lot of brake dust on that side of the car after a few days running around. It was serviced and MOT'd before I received it by a reputable dealership. Any idea what it might be and how it can be fixed?

Brake pads are now metallic, and one consequence is that pads and discs together can rust. If some repeated heavy brakings don't clean up the discs and stop this, then get the car back to the dealer. Obviously take care when braking heavily.
