How can I dispute a rental car damage claim?

I recently hired a car from a well-known national hire company. I booked and paid for five days hire. I returned the car full of fuel with no further damage. I received a claim from the hire company with pictures showing the window screen cracked from top to bottom (easily seen from distance).

I returned the car when the agent inspected and confirmed on the returns statement "No Damage" of which I have a copy. The hire company have notified me they will take full repair costs from my credit card account for additional damage shown on their photographs. What should I do?

If you are certain of your facts, tell your bank or credit card company not to allow the payment and tell the rental company that if payment is taken you will sue them for its return plus your coasts in the Small Claims Track of the County Court.
