Easily-accessible but good-to-drive conundrum!

We've thoroughly researched and briefly tested the following and can't split a decision between:
Toyota Verso 2.0D-4D 2012
Skoda Yeti 1.8TSI 4x4 2011
VW Touran 1.6 TDI 2012
We'd buy used at 2-3 yrs old, 25k mileage, budget £14-15k, mid-spec i.e. Icon/SE.
Calculation on running costs, mpg, extended warranty and purchase price pretty much comes out the same.
Back problem needs easy access and we use a mix of rural roads up north and motorway slogs in all weather.
Gut feeling on best option for 3-5yrs at 15k miles a year?

The Yeti 1.8TSI 4x4 is by far the most fun to drive. More fun to drive than a Golf GTI. Check the car by car entry for the point at which they improved the fuel economy, and be aware that this DI engine can coke up its inlet valves and become an oil burner. The Verso 2.0D-4D is dull as ditchwater and horrible to drive. The Verso 1.8i Valvematic with the Multidrive A CVT is far nicer to drive. You won't find me recommending anything with VAG's 1.6TDI engine, especially a Touran which is now a very aged design.
