Vauxhall Vivaro won't rev at start up

Vauxhall Vivaro 06 CDTI will not rev after starting engine for about 5 to 15 seconds after it has stood on the drive. Once it's running properly it is great, no problems. Have tried cleaning EGR valve and swapping MAF sensor next to air filter. It is driving me insane.

Well check to see if you have a Bosch ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor fitted.
If so then would suggest that you check the ECT harness multi plug connection for poor connection, as this is a known fault on this model and may well be the cause.
Rectification is by modifying the harness(something your local garage or dealer should know about)
If not that then it could be one of the many sensors fitted, ie Crankshaft, ECT itself, and therefore would suggest that you have a diagnostic check carried out, which should show a fault code ie P ---- 4 numbers which can then be related to the actual fault.
