Ford Mondeo 1.8-litre petrol cutting out at speed

My Ford Mondeo 1.8 petrol gets to high speed on motorway then after a while cuts out looses revs. If I press the throttle nothing happens and it continues to lose power. I have to pull over onto hard shoulder and restart the car. Ford can find nothing on their fault finders. Any suggestions?

The swirl flaps in the inlet manifold can cause problems with this engine and if they eventually break free they can be ingested by the engine, wrecking it. Probably best to have them removed. If it's a 1.8 SCTI it cannot be run on 10% bio 95 Ron 'Premium' unleaded. Needs Super.
