How many owners has my MX5 had?

I have just bought a used Mazda MX5 and it shows as having one registered keeper prior to me owning it. However, it now transpires that the staff at Mazda used it from August 2015 to August 2016, adding 8500 miles. Should they be declared as an owner in this situation. as they used it for such a long time adding substantial mileage?

They weren't 'registered keepers'. But if they were using it personally, then that was probably illegal. I don't understand how the car could have been taxed without being registered to a 'keeper', and using it personally on the garage trade licence is actually illegal.
