Which small auto is best?
The lease on my top of the range Kia Rio ends in the autumn. I've enjoyed the 1.4 engine, heated front seats and general space, but the ride is harsh around our pot holed roads. I only do 5000 miles a year, mainly busy short journeys.
At 76 I would like to re-try an automatic gearbox. I'd also quite like to sit a bit higher. The Hyundai i10 has great reviews, but I'm concerned that the auto might be a bit too slow, and the mpg suffer.
I like the look of the Twingo, but can't find much detail on the automatic box, except from Renault specs., which shows that mpg and acceleration do not differ greatly from the manual box. Can you help?

Test of the Twingo here, but the EDC box was not available at the time: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/renault/renault-tw.../
It's a dual clutch Renault box which Renault shares with Mercedes for the equivalent Smart, which is, of course, another alternative. Ford's Powershift as well as VAG's DSG has been troublesome. Automated manuals are best avoided. (You'll need to learn to left foot brake or you'll probably hit something when trying to park.)
