BMW X3 - is it possible to upgrade the radio?

I have just bought a used BMW X3 and it has come with the base level radio system with iDrive and no sat nav. What are my options for upgrading the system so that I can get sat nav and possibly DAB/Bluetooth?

Usually this can't be done, and even if someone can do it for you the cost will be horrific for a system that looks better but is actually inferior to a £200 Tom Tom from Halfords.
