Should BMW refund my warranty?

I bought a used approved BMW 5 Series F11 12 months ago. After six months the rear suspension failed. It took BMW four months to fix the issue before returning the car to me. Due to not being able to drive my car for four months I've not been able to benefit from the warranty. Should BMW be expected to extend my warranty or refund the warranty period I've lost out on?

Very common problem on the F11 wagon. If the dealer kept you on the road for those four months in another F11 he might contend that was enough.
