BMW X5 faults

I bought a used BMW X5 (E70) seven months ago as a main BMW dealer. Its been back twice to have work done under warranty. My headlamps have 'dark spots' where the xenons don't illuminate patches of the road. The alloy wheels also have corrosion.

BMW dealer initially claimed not to find the fault with the lights, then claimed they weren't covered under warranty and now claim that the lights aren't 'faulty enough' to fall under warranty - leaving me with a £600 bulb bill to replace and repair. What should I do?

The dealer admits they refurbished the wheels prior to selling the car to me (cutting back the metal face) and now BMW UK refuse to honour the corrosion warranty and replace the wheels. The dealer says they will paint the 'diamond cut' wheels and offer 1 year warranty, but the wheels will look painted, not metal polished. I have asked to be put back in the position I would have been if they didn't refurb wheels and said they didn't explain on sale that I was excluded from BMW UK warranty on corrosion on the wheels.

Your advice on the lights and wheels please ?

The only way to prevent corrosion on alloy wheels is to paint them. Polishing then lacquering never worked. Painting then lacquering is generally effective. That is the solution to the problem. Replacing the wheels with the same wheels will leave them equally vulnerable. The way to force the dealer to fix the lights is to get the car MoTs. If the MoT test fails the lights, then it's down to the dealer to fix them.
