Warranty Direct - can this be right?

I took out a Warranty Direct policy on my Jaguar FX mainly due to your statement that you receive fewest complaints about them. I spoke to the salesman and he answered all my sceptical questions and I bought a policy. I read the documents and was pleasantly surprised with the policy. Near to the end of the policy I had a handbrake motor fail so I claimed and was pleasantly surprised with the speed of the claim. When it came to renewal time, I renewed the policy automatically because I was very pleased with the service and the policy I had. What I did not do was read the policy which had been down-graded to one that was next to worthless but the premium had remained the same. Can you warn other people not to automatically renew Warranty Direct policies as I comes as a bit of a shock when they reject a claim for two pieces of equipment that were covered in the first year but not in the second year. I know I should have read the booklet (and I would not have renewed if I had) but if you could print this story hopefully it will stop someone being fooled into paying for 1st class premiums for a 3rd rate policy.

If you read all of Warranty Direct's documentation and its webside you will see that warranties automatically downgrade or the premium rises as the car gets older and the mileage increases so the underwtriting risk also consequently increases. Nothing is for nothing. It's the same with all forms of mechanical breakdown insurance, including continental breakdown cover. It's even the same for travel cover as you get older.
