VED tax

In September we bought a new car for my wife and I took over her old car. The tax on this car was due to expire on 30th. I thought it would be easiest if the change of keeper co-incited with the tax renewal, thus avoiding refunds and so in late November I notified the DVLA of the change of registered keeper from 1st December and renewed the tax from that date also, using the reference number on the renewal reminder that had earlier been sent to my wife.

I have received confirmation of the change of registered keeper and the DVLA website confirms the car has been taxed from 1st also. However I am now concerned that the tax might have been issued before the change of keeper was registered and that I now need to re-tax the car. Do you think this is so?

You can check if the cars are taxed at: www.gov.uk/check-vehicle-tax Beware of the imposter site that is the first that comes up on Google.
