Buying a VW Tiguan - is it madness to do so now?

Is it madness in the current climate to buy a used Oct '64 plate Tiguan Match with 7,000 miles on the clock? It is on a Volkswagen dealer forecourt and has been reduced by £1500 from its original asking price of £21,160.

Assuming it's diesel, this does have the EA189 engine, but Volkswagen will eventually 'fix' all of them. In the meantime you will noitice no difference driving the car than anyone did before the emissions scandal broke.
