Mondeo or Insignia?

I'm looking to spend £8 - £9k on a mid range Ford Mondeo or Vauxhall Insignia 2011 hatchback. I like both but which models would you recommend and which would you recommend to buy?

The Mondeo, but like for like the Insignia will probably be cheaper because Vauxhall has been offering deeper discounts on new cars.
