Best method for running in a new car?
I take delivery of a new Audi A4 1.8 TFSI next week. Mindful of the oil consumption issues I would like to know your though on how to run this engine in. It seems you suggest that higher revs need to be used initially to bed in the rings? Is there anything else I should be looking to do?

Don't drive at constant revs for long periods of time. For example, if you take a 200 mile motorway trip, try to vary your cruising speed by 5 - 10mph every 20 miles or so. Of course, if using the M1, the roadworks and traffic jams will do this for you.
