Lexus IS 300 - 16 in or 17 inch wheels?

I'm thinking of buying a nearly new Lexus IS 300 and have the choice of models with 16 or 17-inch wheels. Do you have an opinion of whether one is better than the other?

16-inch wheels with 205/55 R16 tyres or 205/60 R16 tyres absorb bumps better and on this model give better steering 'feel' than the lower profile tyres on the 17-inch wheels. They also last longer and are more resistant to damage.
