Performance fuels - which is best?

You frequently encourage readers to use Shell Nitro+ diesel, and on a recent trip that went through Edinburgh I brimmed my tank twice with the fuel, and I felt a marked difference. Sadly however, where I live in the North of Scotland, this fuel is not sold within 100+ miles of me.

I have the option of bog standard Esso diesel, or Tescos or Morrisons - is there anything to choose between them, and are there any additives I can put in myself to help matters?

You can buy an additive from www.millersoils.co.uk that substitutes the additives in V-Power and also increases the cetane rating.
