Is my 1998 BMW 840Ci Sport likely to turn into a money pit?

Could you advise if my 1998 BMW 840Ci Sport with 109,000 miles (with a replacement engine of approx 50,000 to 60,000 miles) - is worth keeping? Or should I get rid of it as a money-guzzling hole in my wallet?

It depends how many miles you're driving. If it's costing you lots on fuel then you might want to consider getting something like a BMW 5 Series diesel. The 530d is a powerful engine and although no 840i, is far more efficient. At 109,000 miles things (not necessarily engine-related if its been replaced) can start to go wrong and be expensive to fix.
