Golf TDI or BMW 320d - which is faster?

I currently own a Golf TDI (2003) with 126,000 miles on the clock, but I would like to trade it in for a BMW 320d (2003) with 100,000 on the clock and I'm not sure what to do. Which car is faster and has the quickest acceleration? The man told me the BMW is also TDI - do these models come in TDI? Is the BMW 320d classified as a sports car?

The BMW 320d is a diesel but it's not a sports car. It comes as a saloon or a coupe, and the coupe is a little sportier looking. In terms of speed the 320d (four-door saloon) has an official 0-60mph time of 8.6 seconds and a top speed of 134mph. We're not sure what TDI engine is fitted to your Golf but if it's the 1.9 TDI with 150bhp it has an official 0-60mph time of 8.3 seconds and a top speed of 132mph.
