Bus Lane fine for a place I've never been?
I have been accused of driving in a bus lane by Hounslow Borough Council on 15th DECEMBER 2013 @ 18.25.
I submitted evidence of a phone call I made from my home land line telephone almost 100 miles away @ 17.45 and explained that I was nowhere near Hounslow on that day nor have I ever been to Hounslow in my life as far as I am aware.
I suggested the camera may have misread a number plate. The photograph submitted by them is very grainy and it is impossible to read the number plate of the car in the dark, wet conditions with the cars headlights glaring.
Hounslow has rejected my challenge and said the camera cannot misread number plates and I must pay the fine or go to court! I am a widow, living alone and have produced all the evidence I can. It was not me or my car and it seems impossible to convince them.
I have contacted the police suggesting my number plate must have been cloned but they say it is much more likely the camera was wrong - how can I convince Hounslow council of my innocence?

Some arrogant clerk has messed up. You could use: www.trafficpenaltytribunal.gov.uk But I would be inclined to forewarn Hounslow Borough Council that you are happy for the case to go to court and will sue the Council for all your time and expenses when the court accepts your proof that you could not have been in the bus lane at the time and date.
