Would an alternative make of tyre improve the ride comfort of my MG TF?

The MG TF model is known for its unforgiving ride. I changed the shock absdorbers to the MGOC Bilsteins which have made things a bit better. In your Telegraph column, you sometimes suggest alternative tyres to help sort our ride comfort. I have Eagle tyres that have done 18,000 miles and wonder if an alternative make would soften the ride?

Not different tyres to improve ride comfort. Different profile tyres, which would mean smaller wheels to accommodate them and keep the same rolling circumference.
