Which MPV should I buy?

We will be retiring next year and want to buy a new MPV. My wife will be the only driver, but she has some health issues and it’s important the car has an automatic gearbox, high driving position and a comfortable ride. We will very rarely carry back seat passengers, but may occasionally have need of generous boot space. What do you recommend? We will cover 8000 miles a year.

Maybe a Vauxhall Meriva 1.4T 6-speed auto. Otherwise a Toyota Verso 1.8i Valvematic Multidrive S.
