Battery light illuminating on a K12 Nissan Micra

I have a Nissan Micra K12 1.2 automatic 3 door hatchback. When the car is at idle the battery light is off, as it should be, but when I put my foot down the light comes on. It then goes back off when I back off the throttle.

If I keep my foot right down it keeps flashing and comes up with a charging warning and tells me to contact a Nissan dealer. There is no loss of power or electrics. The person that owned it before me has had the problem for ages but hasn't effected the drive at all.

Reads like the diodes n the back of the alternator have failed. Lot of trouble with the Micra K12. I'd get it fixed and get rid of it.
