Is Autoglym's 'LifeShine' good value for money?

I have just agreed to purchase a Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec, which is four years old and in spotless condition, from a local Ford main dealer. The dealer has recommended that the car is given a protective treatment known as 'LifeShine', manufactured by Autoglym, at a cost of £240. I have no knowledge of this product, so I would appreciate your thoughts on whether it represents good value for money.

This is one of the few paint treatments that not only works but is guaranteed to work. £240 isn't excessive. At this time of year, climatic conditions make it very difficult or impossible to apply this type of treatment yourself.
