Which version of the Jaguar XJ gives the best ride quality?

We might buy a 2-year-old Jaguar XJ. Is there any different in ride quality between a SWB and LWB version?

A LWB rides slightly better. But the crucial thing is the tyres. 18s ride better than 19s, and 19s ride better than 20s, though the problem is only apparent over sharp bumps and ridges. The general ride quality on a smooth but undulating road is excellent.

I love this car. It's a limo with excellent handling, a 6-second 0-60, 155mph top speed and 41mpg. The XJ was designed to look its best with the longer wheelbase and you can readily see this from the proportions.
