Does the Qashqai's Renault engine avoid DPF problems?

I currently own a 2002 diesel, and do a lot of journeys of only two miles and a few journeys of nearly 1000 miles. I assumed I could not buy a new diesel due to DPF problems until I read of a Renault engine fitted to a Nissan Qashqai. Are there any other cars containing this diesel engine, or indeed any other, that I could consider buying.

The Renault 1.6DCI 130 fitted to the Qashqai, Scenic and Megane has new 3-stage fast warm technology and a different type of EGR that in theory should work well, but only time will tell and there has not yet been enough time.

Similar ideas were applied to the new 1.0 Ecoboost petrol engine in the Focus, and is part of the design of Mazda SKYACTIV engines. Focus 1.0 Ecoboost test here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/ford/focus-10-ecob.../
