Buying replacement tyres

I am at present running a 2009 BMW 120d SE convertible (with which I am very pleased). It is fitted with Continental Premium Contact SSR tyres size 205/55 R16 91V runflats.

What would you recommend replacing them with when I renew them, bearing in mind ride comfort and quietness. Also could you suggest a suitable winter tyre as well?

For the summer, Michelin Primacy 3s. For the winter, Michelin Alpins. But BMW does sets of winter tyres already on wheels from about £700 and, though you may have no choice of tyre, that is the most sensible option. For a compendium of tyre tests go to www.tyrereviews.co.uk
