Stuttering turbo-diesel Focus

At 1800 - 2000 rpm in any gear the engine on my Ford Focus seems to have a 'flat spot' and stutters, feeling very lumpy. It's OK when you drive through this rpm range. No other problems. Starts OK. Garage computer shows no codes.

This is the period of maximum boost from the turbo, so could be that the bearings are worn.
