Winter Tyres on a BMW Coupe - thanks for your advice

I am just writing to say that having finally taken your (repeated) advice and put some winter tyres on my 330i BMW Coupe, I am absolutely astounded at the difference they make.

This morning I have driven a tricky route (with 90 degree turns followed by steep inclines) through more than six inches of snow (almost deeper than the clearance of my front spoiler) from my house to the main road and I hardly experienced so much as a wheelspin.

With my summer tyres fitted it would definitely have been impossible. I genuinely believe that my car is virtually the equal of a 4x4 now, with the added bonus that I can stop when going downhill.

No longer do I need to deliberate about whether I need to run a 4x4 all year just for the few days each year when it snows like this – I clearly do not, and will never consider one again.

Many thanks for pushing this topic so hard.
