Mercedes-Benz Extended Warranty
Mercedes-Benz approved insurers have just quoted me £840 annually to extend the warranty on my five year old, 53,000 mile diesel E-Class, even though components such as power steering and brake pipes and hoses, driveshafts, steering gaiters, engine and driveline mountings are excluded.
From this I infer that the car is very prone to all sorts of expensive failures. Should I get rid of it?

The W211 E-Class 2002-2006 can develop a lot of problems, but the facelift (Venetion blind 'eyebrows' inside the headlights) from autumn 2006, should be okay.
