Sensor failure on 2000 BMW 3 Series

The exhaust camshaft sensor shows as failing on my BMW. Could this be due to the vanos system failing?

Difficult to say, if your are getting a code indicating the sensor as faulty then it may be best to change it. If you go to www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/techarticles/101-Projects...m

It will explain how to change the sensor and assist with any further faults.
