How long to keep my diesel i30?

I have a two-year old Hyundai i30 automatic which has behaved impeccably on a 70-mile daily commute (mainly motorway). Do I keep it for the term of the 5-year warranty or trade in before any potential problems arise? It's likely that I will retire within the next couple of years and wouldn't then require a diesel.
My wife currently drives my old but faithful Mazda6 which will probably last another year or so and our joint choice of vehicle after that would be Mazda3 petrol automatic. Could I have your views, please?

If it's 2 years old it probably doesn't have a diesel particulate filter and that's a big advantage worth hanging on to.
