Supermarket fines

I entered an Asda Carpark twice in one day first time for about 5 min, the carpark was very busy and later in the afternoon. Town and City Parking sent a notice that stated they believe that a parking charge is payable. I did not contravene any rules. So, following your advice I have ignored it. I have now recieved a notice from a debt recovery company(Whyte & co) I must admit it is nerve wracking sticking to this advice.

They cannot do anything to you apart from threaten without a court judgement. And without a court judgement, repeated threats constitute harassment.

Of 1,600,000 penalty charges issued by members of the BPA last year, 845 resulted in commencement of court action, 49 actually went to court and BPA members won 24.

Those are the odds.
