Can you recommend a replacement for my Honda Civic that has a sixth gear?

I have been driving a Honda Civic 1.4 (petrol, manual) for five years and it is time to replace it. The car has returned 50mpg on average, mainly because of the sixth gear. Are there other cars of comparable price with a sixth gear? Also, if not, would it be better to get a new Civic now on special offer, or wait for the upgrade next year?

The new KIA Rio is one of the very few 1.4 litre cars with six gears and it has the nicest gearbox of any small car I remember driving. The new 2012 Civic is a significant improvement on the current model, but I was very impressed on re-acquaintance with the previous 1.8 petrol model and got 45mpg out of it over 700 miles.
