Detector Inspector

Please could you re-state the currant law regarding speed camera detectors. I have a unit that detects fixed cameras and a plug in unit that detects radar laser mobile cameras. What is allowed?

In the UK both are because the law intended to specifically ban radar and laser detectors never completely made it through Parliament. However, if you take the detector to France, not only could it be confiscated and destroyed and you heavily fined, your car could be confiscated too.
