Warranty on MINI
Just prior to the expiry of warranty on my MINI Cooper Convertible, the air conditioning failed. The car was due a service and pre MOT check therefore they looked at the problem just prior to its MOT. They needed to book the car back in after the MOT (and warranty expiry) to repair the air con and surprise surprise said that it needed a recharge which wasn't covered by the warranty. Is an Air conditioning recharge covered by the warranty - I have to say I am not a fan of this MINI main dealer garage. I also drive an Audi and find that whatever the issue Audi seem to have it covered by warranty - My experience with BMW/MINI is totally the opposite

If you haven't used the a/c enough during the winter the seals will have dried out and released some refrigerant. The manual should tell you to run the a/c periodically right through the winter, but if it doesn't then you could hold the dealer liable.
