Still paying for my warranty

For the 3rd consequtive year I renewed the warranty with Car Plan in Dec 10 @ £115 per month.

I sold the car yesterday and cancelled the Direct debit and informed warranty firm but they still want the remainder of the total payment (£1150) for a car I don`t have now.

I`ve even told them the new owner is willing to take up the warranty payments by giving his details but they say they can`t transfer it over without a full payment from me.

Even a motor insurance policy gives some allowance for an early cancellation doesn`t it ?

Your problem is you have an annual policy that you are paying in monthly installments. They are not monthly premiums. But the answer is simple. Have the guy who is buying the car pay you by standing order, and you then continue to pay the installments.
