Do children over three years old need to be in a car seat in the rear of a vehicle?
Do children over three years old need to be in a car seat in the rear of a vehicle, or can they use the standard seat belt without a car seat? I'm reading the .gov website and one page states children up to 12 or 135cm tall must be in a car seat, while another page states they can be in the rear seat with a seatbelt. Please may you clarify.

The law is quite clear on this - children up to the age of 12 and/or under 135cm should be seated in an approved car seat. The gov.uk website is correct.
