Nissan X-Trail clutch problem

I tow a horse trailer with my 51 plate Nissan X-Ttrail diesel Sport. The clutch recently burnt out and I had it replaced.

I'm still getting a burning smell and its struggling when I tow. I went back to the guy who fitted the clutch and he said it needs 900 miles to bed in. Does this sound right?

Might be, but depends how much of a hard time you are putting the clutch through. Normal 6-speed gearboxes don't have a low enough first ratio to pull a heavy trailer in difficult conditions.

I have a 2003 Nissan X-Trail, diesel with low power. It will not pull properly and feels like it is missing a lot of power. It crawls up to 3500rpm, then takes off. Any idea what the fault could be?
